Mr Fahmy is a full member of UKAAPS and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (BAPRAS), and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH). He is included in the specialist register established by the GMC in 1995. Mr Fahmy is an examiner of the Royal College of Surgeons in Irelandand is on the Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC) for training in Plastic Surgery.

Mr Fahmy has published numerous literature in the field of Plastic Surgery and presented his work in National, European and International conferences. He described his own technique in breast reduction that is opted by many surgeons now. His breast reduction technique was published in Plastic Reconstructive Surgery American journal as well as constituting a chapter in one of the American books on breast surgery.
