Dr. Smith received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of

Medicine in 1973. He completed his General Surgery residency at Emory

University-Grady Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia and his Plastic Surgery residency

at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed his

hand surgery fellowship at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute located in Louisville,

Kentucky. He was appointed Visiting Professor at Queen Mary, University of

London and at Anglia Ruskin University in 2004. Presently, Dr. Smith is the

Richard G. Connar Professor and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the

University of South Florida College of Medicine, U.S.
