Mr Peter Saxby qualified as a doctor from Edinburgh University in 1978, (MBChB), and after working in Edinburgh for a year moved to Bristol where he completed his General Surgical training, passing the FRCS exam to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He then embarked on his advanced training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and worked in the departments in Bristol, Salisbury, Glasgow, Charing Cross and Mount Vernon Hospitals in London. He also spent time studying in Bordeaux. During his training he did research on a reconstructive technique known as Tissue Expansion and for this was awarded a Master of Surgery degree, (ChM), from Edinburgh University. He passed his intercollegiate board exam in Plastic Surgery in 1991, (FRCS plast) and joined the specialist register of the GMC that year.
