Consultant Plastic and Aesthetic Surgeon

Mr Chakrabarty has been working as a Specialist in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery for the last fifteen years. His special interests and expertise are in the fields of aesthetic breast surgery, facial surgery, body contouring, hand surgery and paediatric surgery.
He qualified in medicine at the University of Manchester in 1987 before going on to pursue postgraduate study in surgery in Oxford and London, obtaining FRCS in 1992. He obtained his MD from Sheffield University, having undertaken research in the development of skin composites.
As well as spending nearly six years in Manchester and Sheffield as a Specialist Registrar, Mr Chakrabarty undertook a period of higher surgical training in paediatric surgery in Canada and hand surgery in the North West.
He was appointed as Locum Consultant at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital before returning to the North West, working as Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Wythenshawe Hospital.
Mr Chakrabarty has Full Registration with the General Medical Council No. 3259986 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, a member of the United Kingdom Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (UKAAPS) and an associate member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).
Mr Chakrabarty teaches twice a year at the Royal College of Surgeons on the Hand Surgery Course. He also teaches the plastic surgery trainees passing through the unit in Manchester. He has published articles in journals and presented both nationally and internationally.
